Nadia Alvarez Gutierrez is a London-based commercial photographer and retoucher specialising in still life, advertising, fashion and editorial photography. Known for her bold use of colour, unexpected compositions, and playful visual language, she transforms everyday objects and people into striking narratives. Nadia draws upon experience from a varied background in the beauty industry, initially working as a beauty therapist and spa manager, where she developed a keen eye for aesthetics, attention to detail, and understanding of how to present products in a visually appealing way.
Beyond commercial work, Nadia’s personal practice explores themes of motherhood, gender roles, self-sacrifice, and the tension between personal identity and public image. Through vibrant palettes and conceptually layered compositions, she challenges visual clichés and questions societal expectations, creating work that is both intellectually engaging and visually arresting.
Nadia graduated with Honours in Digital Media from Roehampton University in 2023 and is currently pursuing an MA in Commercial Photography at the London College of Communication. Her interdisciplinary background includes a Diploma in Digital Marketing from the University of Westminster, where she developed a strong understanding of advertising and visual communication, and a Diploma in Business Management from RISEBA Business School, Latvia. Her current practice continues to evolve at the intersection of art and commerce, blending technical precision with conceptual curiosity to deliver impactful visual storytelling.
